On April 21st at the Conference Hall of the National Library of Belarus took place the finale of the beauty contest “The Spring Queen– 2010” among students.


The organizers of the event are the Belarusian Republican Union of Youth, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the National Library of Belarus, the Russian Union of Youth, the Office of the Interstate Teleradiocompany “Mir” to the Republic of Belarus, and the National School of Beauty.

The major purpose of the contest is to present the beauty as a unity of spiritual and intellectual qualities, creative ability and appearance of contestants.

Young girls from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine and Latvia took part in the finale “The Spring Queen – 2010”. Five contestants represented the Republic of Belarus.

Participants of the contest showed their artistic, creative and intellectual skills in nominations “Defile”, “Intellectual contest” and “Creative contest”.

The jury, which included Sergey Nagorny, Natalya Makkey, Irina Dorofeeva, Roman Motulsky, Pavel Korenevsky, Tariel Maysuradze and Chairman Lyudmila Sidorovich, elected the most “vernal” queen of 2010. Thus Olga Nikiforova, the student of P.M. Masherov State University became the Spring Queen.

Irina Pakholkova, the student of Vologda State Technical University (Russia) had been elected the First Vice-Queen. Julia Bannikova from Ivanovo State Chemical-Technological University (Russia) took the title of the Second Vice-Queen.

The audience’s sympathy prize, coinciding with the jury’s decision, went to winner of the contest “The Spring Queen – 2010” Olga Nikiforova.

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
