Mr Roman Motulsky, Director General of the National Library of Belarus, took part in the opening ceremony of the Turkish Presidential Library (Ankara) on February 20.
The construction of the library was started in 2016 at the initiative of Mr Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the President of the Republic of Turkey. The library is located inside the Presidential Complex and has an area of 125,000 square meters, which allows to receive up to 5 thousand visitors daily. The collection of the library has 4 million printed documents, more than 120 million electronic publications, 550 thousand electronic books, manuscripts and old-printed documents.
In December 2019, the National Library of Belarus, with the assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Turkey, donated the multivolume facsimile edition of the Book Heritage of Francysk Skaryna, the facsimile edition of the Primer and the collection of Belarusian publications under the Belarus Today project to the Presidential Library in Turkey.
