A presentation of Vladislav Tsydzik’s book “I’m Seeing Belarus Like That” and a photo exhibition, timed to the Year of the Native Land in Belarus, took place in the library, on October 16th.

The guests immediately plunged into the atmosphere of creativity. The event presenter, the Belarusian poet, publicist and chief director of the Belarus international radio, Naum Galperovich, read his own poem “Yakoy ya bachu Belarus” and spoke about his attitude to the publication:

– Today in the main book temple of the country, the National Library of Belarus, a new edition is being sent to the big life. By the way, he was supported by our lovers of artistic expression. Poems by 65 modern Belarusian poets have become a good addition to the photos. Exalted words sound like a hymn to the love of their native land, its magnificent landscapes.

Among the speakers were also representatives of the Zvyazda Publishing House, politicians, cultural figures, poets, authors and singers.

The book “I’m Seeing Belarus Like That” with the direct support of the Ministry of Information of the Republic of Belarus was published in 2018 in three languages ​​at once: Belarusian, English and Russian. It was a kind of continuation of the theme, started two years ago in the photo album “Zacharavany Belarussu”. The peculiarity of the new book was the poems published in it. The compiler of both editions is Elena Stelmakh, writer, First Deputy Chairman of the Union of Writers of Belarus.

Elena Dolgopolova, First Deputy Director of the National Library of Belarus, expressed her gratitude for creating an interesting project for the Year of the Native Land and together with the photographer Vladislav Tsydik in a solemn atmosphere cut the ribbon, opening the exhibition of photos from the new book itself.

44 photo views of the country will open to visitors the most diverse parts of Belarus. The author of the photos is Vladislav Tsydik, man obsessed with creativity. In different illustrations in their compositional aspirations there are not only imprints of reality, the eyes of a witness to events, but also a vivid manifestation of the nature of the master.


The exhibition will run until November 16, 2018.
The closing date may be changed.

The opening hours of the exhibition corresponds to the library’s opening hours.
Entrance to the exhibition is available by the library ticket or ticket of the library's social and cultural center.

Students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National library

On April 18, the students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National Library of Belarus as part of the environmental education and upbringing program. They got acquainted with the thematic book exhibition "Water is a wonderful gift of Nature" dedicated to World Water Day. The exposition is presented in the documents of international organizations reading room (room 207 g).
