A public lecture about the history of music was held in the library, on 4 April. The event was part of the joint project of the National Library of Belarus and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
Irina Gorbushina, PhD, told about the the history of the piano, its predecessors (clavichord and harpsichord), design, mechanisms, new methods of sound and the performance possibilities of this instrument.
The public lecture featured visual material: photos of composers, instruments, scores with unconventional design (in the form of a spiral or an eye), as well as audio and video clips and musical examples in live performance.
The audience was captured with an emotional speech, interesting facts and vivid examples.
