The opening of a moveable photo exhibition of the “National Library of Belarus” was held in the Vitebsk district library named after V.I. Lenin on July 14th.

The exposition consists of 24 works of famous Belarussian photo artists: Anatoliy Dribas, Loly Makedonsky, Sergei Plytkevich, Viktor Sugloba and other.

The authors shows a new page of a 100-year history of the main library of the country in illustrative form and present its new building in the most brightest and essential fragments, disclose original interior solutions, new technologies in service, introduce to art works and applied arts.

Oksana Knizhnikova, director general of the National library of Belarus took part in the opening of the exhibition. In the welcoming speech, Oksana Knizhnikova thanked the management of the Vitebsk district library named after V.I. Lenin for the opportunity granted to introduce the citizens of Vitebsk to the history of the “diamond of the knowledge”, its architectural peculiarities and art decoration.

The movable photo exhibition “National library of Belarus” is dedicated to the 100-years anniversary of the institution and tells about a modern National library as the largest information and socio cultural center of the country, unique vaults of national documents and about profession of a librarian, which changes its forms according to the requirements of the time extremely fast.
