On 11 October, a solemn opening of the international multiproject “Lemaris” devoted to the 90th anniversary from Stanislaw Lem's birth will take place in the gallery "Labyrinth" at 17.00 p.m.


Stanislaw Lem is the Polish writer, satirist, philosopher, fantast and futurologist. His books are translated on over 30 languages. He is rightly considered as one of the most outstanding writer-philosophers of the 20th century. His works are referred to classics of a fantastic genre.

The multiproject "Lemaris" includes a series of separate projects:

  • the exhibition of S. Lem’s books from the funds of the National Library of Belarus;
  • the exhibition of a book collection of Victor Yaznevich, the translator of Lem’ works;
  • the exhibition on which editions of one work (the novel "Solaris") are represented;
  • the exhibition of Polish graphic artist Daniel Mroz’s illustrations made to S . Lem’s works;
  • the exhibition of artist from St.-Petersburg Alexey Andreev’ illustrations made to S. Lem’s works;
  • the exhibition of S. Lem’s pictures;
  • the exhibition of Belarusian artists’ works devoted S. Lem’s creative work (painting, photo, sculpture, computer graphics, etc.).

The exhibition will last till 4 November.

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
