The Ministry of Foreign Affair held the exhibition “The Genocide of the Belorussian People during the Great Patriotic War” on July 18th.
The exposition, arranged jointly by the Belarussian sate-owned museum of the Great Patriotic War, the History museum of Minsk city and the National library of Belarus, was opened by Vladimir Makei, the minister of Foreign Affairs. The event was also visited by the heads of Belarussian diplomatic missions and consular departments, foreign diplomats, accredited in the Republic of Belarus.
The National library of Belarus has presented eighteen publications, printed for the last ten years, in a thematic exhibition from its collection. The winners of the 61st National contest “The Art of a Book” are among of them as follows: a collection of scientific articles “Belarus in the fire of 1941” (a diploma of the second category, nomination “Belarus remembers”, “The feat of the Soviet people is immortal” (the winner in the nomination “The commonwealth”), collections of archives documents and materials “Without a period of limitations: the crimes of Nazi and their allies against peaceful population in the occupied territory of the BSSR during the Great Patriotic War”, research studies of the Belarusian National academy of science, Institute of history “The contribution of the Belarussian people to the victory in the Great Patriotic War”.
The exposition also has anniversary publications. One of them is “Little martyrs of the war” (by author L.G.Emelyanov), dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory. The second one is “Hatyn and its sisters: tragedy and memory” which contains the materials of 2018 international conference and International school of yang historians. This event is dedicated to the 75th anniversary since Hatyn tragedy.
