Within the framework of the visit of an official delegation from Bashkortostan to Belarus on December 6, Ms Natalya Lapshina, First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Mr Marat Zulkarnaev, Acting Director of the Ahmet Zeki Velidi National Library, and Mr Artur Alibakov, Director General of the Republican Centre of Folk Arts of the Republic of Bashkortostan, attended the National Library.

During their meeting with Ms Aksana Knizhnikava, Director General of the National Library of Belarus, the colleagues discussed a number of cultural cooperation issues between Belarus and one of the Russian republics; expressed their interest in expanding ties in the area of librarianship, in joining efforts to preserve cultural potential and cultural heritage.

The honoured guests enjoyed a guided tour of the National Library. They were introduced to the socio-cultural activities of the National Library of Belarus – organization and holding of events, presentations, guided tours, exhibition projects; they visited the President Centre's Round Hall, Book Museum and the Library's Observation Deck.

Tomorrow, on December 7, during the presentation of investment and economic potential of the Republic of Bashkortostan in the Republic of Belarus "Strengthening Unions, Building Partnerships", a ceremony of signing the Agreement on Cooperation between the state budgetary institution of culture "Ahmet Zeki Velidi National Library of the Republic of Bashkortostan" and the state institution "National Library of Belarus" will be held.

From January 17, a literary and visual exhibition is on show in the circular corridor of the 2nd floor. The exhibition is dedicated to the winners of the prize For Spiritual Revival, a special prize of the president of the Republic of Belarus to people of culture and art, as well as a special prize of the president of the Republic of Belarus Belarusian Sports Olympus for 2021.
