On 24th April, there has begun the 14th International Forum on Telecommunications, Information and Banking Technologies "TIBO-2007" in which the National Library of Belarus traditionally participates.
The stand of the National Library of Belarus presents electronic information resources by leading world producers and those developed by the Library itself. At the exhibition you can find brief information about 118 databases to which the Library provides access today. Also, visitors can acquaint themselves with electronic editions of the National Library of Belarus.
The stand presents demo version of the new database “The electronic archive of national periodicals” which currently includes more than 50 titles of Belarusian newspapers, magazines and news agencies. The database allows users of the National Library of Belarus to read electronic version of the edition before it is published.
The stand acquaints visitors with electronic version of the alphabetical catalogue in Russian, Belarusian and English languages. The electronic content including 4 million cards allows users of the National Library of Belarus to find documents from the Library’s stocks which are not presented in the electronic catalogue.
The exhibition presents as well new virtual services of the Library: a virtual reference service “Ask a librarian” and “Electronic document delivery”.
All printed materials on display are produced with the use of high-technology equipment. Information about it is also presented on the stand.
The exhibition runs till 27th April, 2007.
