On January 16, a round table named Maladnyakмskіmі Krokamі took part in the library as part of the Maladnyak Literary Association Day. A festive event and the opening of an exhibition in the Book Museum were held. The exhibition presented the heritage of Maladnyak members in one exposition.

The round table began with a speech by Alexander Susha, Deputy Director General - Director for Research and Publishing Activities, who told the audience about the republic’s project On the Waves of Time throughout Life, which will be implemented in 2019–2023. The initiators of its realization were the National Library of Belarus, the State Museum of the History of the Belarusian Literature, the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art, and the Publishing House Zvyazda (Star) (Maladosts magazine).

The heads of the joint project took part in the event, Pavel Sukhorukov, Director and Editor-in-Chief of the Publishing House Zvyazda, Mikhail Rybakov, Director of the State Museum of the History of Belarusian Literature were among them. The participants of each organization made a speech at the meeting and summed up the results of the first year of activity.

Tatyana Lavrik, the Сhief Bibliographer of the Information and Analytic Activity Department, presented the virtual project On the Waves of Time throughout Life, which is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Maladnyak Literary Association on behalf of the National Library of Belarus. Tatyana Lavrik presented a new section of the virtual project On the Waves of Time throughout Life, which is dedicated to the 115th birthday of Vladimir Hadyka. The Leading Librarian of the Special Collections Service Department, Dmitry Davidovsky, spoke about the creative legacy of the Maladnyak members, writers such as V. Dubovka and A. Babareko. Evgeny Derkach, the family member of the writer Mikola Nikonovich, told about the fate of his talented relative.

The director of the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art, Anna Zapartyka, and the director of the Yanka Kupala Institute of Literary Studies, a branch of the Center for the Study of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Ivan Saverchenko, spoke at the festive event. The Belarusian writer, teacher, literary critic, Anna Sevyarynets, spoke about the outstanding writers A. Babareko, P. Trus and other members of the Maladniak.

The creative atmosphere was given to the participants of the literary evening in a special atmosphere. The library was visited by a side-project Naka Piano (Anastasia Shpakovskaya and Irina Klimenko). Naka Piano performed Belarusian songs, among which were Adyshoshim, lyrics by V. Moryakov, which has already become the hallmark of the project On the Wave of Time, Throughout the Life. Artists of the Zhivoye Slovo folk literary theater under the direction of Olesya Sivokhina prepared a musical number for the festive event and read poems by writers of the 1920s.

The evening ended in the Book Museum with the opening of the exhibition dedicated to the Maladnyak Literary Association and its members. The exhibit items had been taken from the collection of three institutions, the National Library of Belarus, the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art and the State Museum of the History of Belarusian Literature were among them.

Students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National library

On April 18, the students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National Library of Belarus as part of the environmental education and upbringing program. They got acquainted with the thematic book exhibition "Water is a wonderful gift of Nature" dedicated to World Water Day. The exposition is presented in the documents of international organizations reading room (room 207 g).
