The presentation of a book about Belarusian State Academy of Aviation (in Russian: Белорусская государственная академия авиации: история и перспективы развития) was held at the library, on October 14.
The event was attended by first deputy director of the National Library of Belarus Elena Dolgopolova and rector of the Belarusian State Academy of Aviation Artyom Shegidevich.
The presentation was made by the former head of Minsk State Higher Aviation College, a member of the veteran civil aviation organization, Nikolai Sidorovich. He introduced the audience to the history of domestic aviation, spoke about the achievements in the industry and wished contemporaries to achieve new heights in education.
The anniversary monograph is devoted to the history of the national school of aviation, from the Minsk Aviation Technical School of Civil Aviation to the Belarusian State Academy of Aviation.
A copy of the book was donated to the National Library.
A thematic exhibition ran during the event. Publications from the library’s collections were on display: books about the world and domestic history of aviation, both military and civil, as well as publications devoted to the history of the academy.
