On August 21 the library hosted a conference of pedagogical staff of Minsk region "Development Management: Constructive Environment and Educational Results", organized by the Education, Sports and Tourism Department of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee.

The conference was attended by representatives of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, the Main Education Directorate of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, the Minsk Regional Committee of the Professional Union of Educators and Scientists, and pedagogical collectives of the district's educational institutions.

The educational and informative excursion "Famous Names of Motherland"   dedicated to the life path and creative way of Belarusian literature and culture classics was held for the conference participants.

The book exhibition was presented to the attention of the guests, where they could get acquainted with the originals of the lifetime editions of our famous compatriots from the collections of the National Library of Belarus. In addition, the excursionists took part in the literary quiz: using electronic tablets they answered questions on the poem "New Land" by Yakub Kolas and Yanka Maur's adventure story "Robinsons from Polesie".

Educational excursions "Famous Names of Motherland" are aimed primarily at students and teachers of institutions of general secondary and vocational education. Information resources of the National Library of Belarus were used in development, curricula in the subjects "Belarusian Literature" and "Art (national and world art culture)" and anniversary dates are taken into account. This makes it possible to visit the library for several years and every time to get acquainted with the life and work of new bright representatives of Belarusian literature and culture. In the frameworks of the Year of the Native Land the National Library of Belarus organizes excursions "Famous names of Motherland", dedicated to the life and work of Yanka Kupala, Yakub Kolas, Yanka Maur, Maxim Bahdanovich, Kandrat Krapiva, Francysk Skaryna, Mark Chagall.

Also the excursion "Animated Books", aimed to the family visits was hold for the participants of the conference. With the use of electronic tablets, the guests were able to "revive" illustrations in books due to the augmented reality technology.

Excursion activity of the National Library of Belarus is constantly developing and supplemented with new projects. The staff of the library is always happy to present them to the visitors and call for cooperation the teachers, students, their parents, grandparents.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the People's writer of Belarus, publicist and screenwriter Vasil Vladimirovich Bykov.
On this occasion, the National Library has prepared an anniversary exhibition "Soldier's fate", which highlights the great influence on the work of the Belarusian writer of his participation in the Great Patriotic War.
