On January 25th, the award ceremony of winners of the contest “The love of the Fatherland through the love of the family” was held at the National Library of Belarus.


The event was arranged by the International charity fund “Family – Unity – Fatherland”, the public association “Belarusian Union of Women”, editors of the journal “Alesya” and the National Library of Belarus.

The creative contest was held in 2012. The major tasks of this project were strengthening of love to the Fatherland, studying of the history of Belarus and the family, increase of the family’s prestige.

At the event spoke: founder of the contest, co-chairman of the Belarusian Union of Women Antonina Morova, member of the editorial board of the Russian Orthodox Church, chairman of the organizational committee of the republican program “Family – Unity – Fatherland” and deputy chairman of the Public Council for the Morals Vladimir Grozov, editor-in-chief of the journal “Alesya” Tamara Bunto, and member of the Union of Writers of Belarus Anatoly Seckevich-Cheboganov.

Within the framework of the event a hologram exhibition was held.

Employees of the National Library of Belarus guided an excursion for participants of the contest winners award ceremony.

Students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National library

On April 18, the students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National Library of Belarus as part of the environmental education and upbringing program. They got acquainted with the thematic book exhibition "Water is a wonderful gift of Nature" dedicated to World Water Day. The exposition is presented in the documents of international organizations reading room (room 207 g).

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
