On May 24th–27th, the Russian State Library in Pashkov House (Moscow) hosted the 28th Conference of European National Librarians (CENL).


The solemn opening of the Conference was held with the participation of Minister of Culture of Russia V. Medinsky, IFLA President S. Sipilä, CENL President B. Rasin, and Director General of Russian State Library А. Visly.

The National Library of Belarus was represented by Director R. Motulsky.

Heads of the biggest libraries of Europe discussed current joint projects including those in the field of preservation of European national cultural heritage, cultural variety and multilingualism as basic values of European culture.

The main attention during the conference was given to the European Library, the leading project on creation of a distributed digital library of Europe. Its mission is to provide interactive access to electronic collections of national libraries.

Also organizational and legal aspects of creation and development of national libraries were considered at the event.

"BiblioNight-2024" has taken place!

BiblioNight turned the space of the National Library of Belarus into a Planet of Knowledge, where thousands of book lovers found activities to their liking, received a lot of positive emotions and learned a lot of new and interesting things.

"Soldier's Fate": on the 100th anniversary of Vasil Bykov and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the People's writer of Belarus, publicist and screenwriter Vasil Vladimirovich Bykov.
On this occasion, the National Library has prepared an anniversary exhibition "Soldier's fate", which highlights the great influence on the work of the Belarusian writer of his participation in the Great Patriotic War.
