As part of the work aimed at the identification and readmission of the national cultural values with the support of the Honorary Consul of Belarus in Lausanne, Andrei Nazheskin, the country's main library stacks will be replenished with a unique collection of lifetime and postmortem editions of the Belarusian poet, literature historian and translator, Władysław Syrokomla.
The Deputy Director for Research and Publishing Activities, Alies Susha, commented on the event: “For more than six months we have been negotiating the acquisition of a unique collection of lifetime and posthumous publications (over 50 books) by the famous Belarusian and Polish writer. An examination of each book was performed, their authenticity and value were checked. I can only say that there are indeed a lot of extremely rare and valuable editions in this collection.
Especially for a transfer to the collections of the National Library, the unique collection of rarities was purchased from a private collector thanks to the support of the Honorary Consul of Belarus in Lausanne, Andrei Nazheskin and the participation of the Chargé d'affaires a.i. of the Republic of Belarus in the Swiss Confederation, Pavel Matsukevich.”
Detailed information can be found on the official website of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Swiss Confederation.
