A webinar "The Book and Reading as the Spiritual Heritage of Orthodoxy in the Culture and History of Belarusians" was held via Zoom on December 15. The event was held within the framework of the 14th regional St. George educational readings "Native Land – Great Love" dedicated to the Year of the Native Land and the 75th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The organizer of the online meeting was Mahilioŭ Karl Marx Central City Library and Saint Georgi (Kaninski) Spiritual-Educational of the Mahilioŭ Eparchy of the Belarusian Orthodox Church. Specialists of public and school libraries, teachers of literature, representatives of Belarusian Orthodox Church took part in the webinar.
Ms Olga Volkova, Director of the Centralized System of Public Libraries of Mahilioŭ, greeted the participants with a welcoming speech.
Ms Olga Rynkevich, Chief Librarian of the Bibliology Research Department presented an analysis of the works that took part in the VI National Contest "The Library as the Center of Spiritual Education and Upbringing".
Ms Lutsyya Tupchienko-Kadyrova, Leading Bibliographer of the Corporate Interaction Department, introduced the webinar participants to electronic publications of the Virtual Reading Room of the National Library of Belarus on religion. The report was presented to the participants in the video.
