An award ceremony was held in honour of the professional holiday in the round hall of the National Library of Belarus on September 15.

The staff of the National Library today received certificates of honour, certificates and gratitude from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus from the hands of Mr Valery Gromada, Acting Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus.

Ms Tatiana Krishalovich, Head of the Sector of the Maintaining the National Database of Authoritative Records Department was awarded the honorary diploma for many years of conscientious work and great personal contribution to the popularization and preservation of the national culture. Diplomas for many years of conscientious work and high professionalism were awarded to Ms Natalya Esis, Scientific Secretary, Ms Irina Kuketa, Chief Librarian of the Bibliology Research Department, Ms Irina Lyalkovskaya, Head of the Planning and Economic Department.

Letters of Acknowledgment of the Republic of Belarus for high professionalism and great personal contribution to the development of librarianship were given to Ms Valentina Buinitskaya, Chief Bibliographer of the Electronic Library Formation Department, Ms Yekaterina Voronko, Leading Bibliographer of the Bibliology Research Department, Mr Yuri Yakovtsov, Leading Engineer of the Heating and Plumbing Equipment Maintenance Department.

Ms Tatiana Filimonova, Chairperson of the Central Committee of the Belarusian Trade Union, presented certificates and gratitude of the Belarusian Trade Union of Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism. Certificates of honour for many years of conscientious work, active work to protect the socio-economic rights and interests of colleagues were awarded to Ms Tatiana Volk, Chief Librarian of the Acquisition Department, and Ms Lyudmila Petrovich, Chief Librarian of the Specialized Collection Preservation Department. The diploma for conscientious work and personal contribution to the organization of the work of the Trade Union Committee of the National Library was awarded to Ms Yana Plyashkevich, Leading Archivist of the General Department. Zhanna Turcan, Chief Librarian of the Book Storage Department, was highly acknowledged for her active work.

The National Library of Belarus celebrates the holiday for the twelfth year, congratulating the most worthy on the victory in the authoritative annual competition of professional skills for the title "Best in Profession".

Mr Roman Motulsky, Director General of the National Library of Belarus congratulated the staff on their professional holiday and presented a diploma in the nomination “For Faithfulness and Devotion to the Profession” to Ms Yevgenia Galievskaya, who has been working in the library since 1981, and all 39 years of her career has been devoted to research and promotion of Belarusian culture.

Diplomas in the category "Best in Profession" were received by:

  • Ms Serzhant Anna, Head of the Payroll Accounting Sector of the Bookkeeping Department;

  • Ms Shashenko Natalia, Chief Bibliographer of the Bibliology Research Department of the Information centre;

  • Ms Ludmila Dranets, Chief Bibliographer of the Bibliographical Document Processing Department;

  • Ms Korneychuk Natalia, Leading Librarian of the Bibliology Research Department;

  • Ms Elena Novik, Leading Economist of the Planning and Economic Department;

  • Ms Yulia Amosova, Leading Bibliographer of the Information and Analytic Activity Department

  • Mr Bobrovnik Alexander, Leading Engineer of the Cultural and Entertainment Activities Department;

  • Ms Demidova Olesya, Chief Librarian of the Department of Library and Information Technologies;

  • Ms Elena Yakovenko, Head of the Internet Portal Maintenance Department Sector.

In the category "For Leadership and Successful Leadership" the winners are:

  • Ms Vashkevich Irina, Chief Bibliographer of the Bibliology Research Department;

  • Ms Olga Isaeva, Head of the Sector of the Department of Restoration and Conservation of Library Documents;

  • Mr Burachevsky Vladimir, Deputy Head of the Security and Regime Service.

Ms Svetlana Senkovskaya, Head of the Sector of the Book Storage Department, received an award for her contribution to the development of librarianship.

This year, the competition expanded its scope and  "The Best Public Leader" nomination was proposed. Ms Tatyana Akimova, Leading Engineer of the Dispatch Department, was awarded in this nomination.

We did not forget to note the new addition of the library staff. Ms Natalia Moroz was awarded a diploma in the nomination "Best Young Specialist" as Software Engineer of the Information and Computing Department. Mr Stanislav Kasperovich, Deputy General Director - Director for Economics, Regime, Building and Equipment Operation, addressed parting words to young specialists.

Students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National library

On April 18, the students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music visited the National Library of Belarus as part of the environmental education and upbringing program. They got acquainted with the thematic book exhibition "Water is a wonderful gift of Nature" dedicated to World Water Day. The exposition is presented in the documents of international organizations reading room (room 207 g).
