The exhibition of reproductions of the Brazilian artist Juarez Machado "L' Art Du Parfum" ("The Art of Perfume") opened in the Library on December 21.


Juarez Machado is a Brazilian painter and sculptor, he was born in 1941 in Joinville (Brazil), graduated from the French Academy of Fine Arts. Today he is one of the key figures in the contemporary art. Machado’s works are exhibited in major museums of Europe, Brazil and the United States.

A fascinating universe of Juarez Machado combines Latin rhythms and French charm; men and women in his paintings dance and dream, love and just enjoy life...

His artworks were created specifically for the perfume line "Eisenberg L' Art Du Parfum" of Jose Eisenberg. Fascinated by the universe of the artist, Jose decided to embody the emotions in the stories hidden in the fragrances. Magnificent works of Juarez Machado tell us moving stories of fragrances. Art and fragrances have intertwined forever.

Jose Eisenberg considers that perfumery is an ART. And they both exist in his exclusive world. The unique concept "L' Art Du Parfum" reveals inborn aspects of the human nature and allows to feel instinctively emotions, beauty and secret.

Guests were offered a book exposition from the fund of the National Library about beauty, cosmetics, perfumery "Magic of beauty and fragrances".

LLC Kraft and the National Library of Belarus organized the event.

The exhibition runs in room 307 (3rd floor). The entrance fee equals the cost of the pass to the sociocultural centre, the entrance for the readers of the Library with the library card is free.

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
