On November 3–4, 2008, in Moscow State University fundamental library took place the 2nd Assembly of Russian World timed to the Day of People’s Unity of Russia (November 4). Tatiana Kuzminich, the Deputy Director for development of information resources participated in the Assembly.
Representatives from 60 countries, including the Republic of Belarus, participated in the event.
In the framework of a discussion “Russian world in the act” and round tables “Russian world and globalization”, “Russian culture in the world scene”, and “Information space of the Russian world” were discussed the significance of Russian language and Russian culture in the world, activities of the Fund “Russian World” in the field of Russian publications sponsoring, development of Russian Centers and textbooks in Russian language for schoolchildren and students abroad.
Representatives of National Library of Belarus in the person of Tatiana Kuzminich, the Deputy Director for development of information first participated in the work of the 2nd Assembly of Russian World. During the event were discussed opportunities of cooperation between National Library of Belarus and the Fund “Russian World” including collection and promotion of Russian electronic information resources.
