On October 24, the library hosted the republican scientific-practical seminar "The spiritual and moral development of students in the modern educational space according to the Orthodox tradition and values of the Belarusian people, taking into account the socio-cultural cluster."
The purpose of the event is to familiarize teachers with the theoretical foundations of spiritual and moral education, innovative means of library activities and modern publications that enrich the spiritual world of human.
The seminar was attended by representatives of the clergy and the Ministry of Information of the Republic of Belarus, as well as heads of educational institutions from all country’s regions implementing innovative projects on the subject of the seminar. The round table identified the key areas of work with students, shared experience and discussed the urgent issues.
Alexander Susha, the deputy director of the National Library of Belarus for research and publishing, told about the facsimile reproduction of the first Belarusian Primer 1618 and its role in the development of the spiritual and educational tradition of Belarus. Lyudmila Komarovskaya, head of the Excursion and Methodical Work Department, showed how you can join the cultural values of the Belarusian people by means of study tours. Tatyana Sapego, head of the research and design activity sector, the Bibliology Research Department, presented a report focused on museum pedagogy as an innovative form of the educational process.
After the seminar, the attendees had a tour of the library, during which they became acquainted with the architectural features of the building and visited the reading rooms, the gallery complex and the observation deck.
