The seminar "Forms of cultural and educational activities in libraries and museums of Poland" took place in the National Library of Belarus on January 27.
In the framework of the Year of culture, the event was organized by the National Library of Belarus, the Belarusian Library Association and the Belarusian State Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Lifestyle. Library and museum specialists from Minsk participated in the seminar.
The head of the bibliology department of the National Library, chairman of committee on protection of book monuments of the Belarusian Library Association Galina Kireeva. She highlighted the importance of the proposed topic in the Year of culture, when cultural and educational activities of libraries on books and book culture promotion are extremely significant.
The head of research and design work section Tatiana Sapego told about the cultural and educational project "Visiting books", which was started by the initiative of the National Library of Belarus at the beginning of the year and is targeted at attraction of children’s attention to the Library and the Museum, awakening of interest to books and national book heritage. The aim of the project is research of domestic and foreign experience of cultural and educational activity and working out of methodology of lessons on book values promotion.
The scientific worker of the scientific expositional department of the Belarusian State Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Lifestyle Iryna Judzina told about cultural and educational projects in libraries and museums of Poland. The lecturer had training for Belarusian museum workers of the project "Active museum", which task was to exchange experience with Polish cultural institutions.
The seminar was held in an interactive form, issues of increase of interest to libraries and museums and of the number of users and visitors were discussed, as well as cultural and educational projects.
