On June 19 the library was the semi-final of the National Competition for Young readers "Live Classics".

There were 30 participants of regional and Minsk city competition. They have passed first, second and third stages of the competition. By the semi-final readers prepared carefully: they were decorated with fancy hairstyles and colorful costumes.

Convincing gestures, body language, some enexpected, not a child emotions and there are the 15 most talented readers at the finish line. Showdown will take place in Slonim on a festive stage of the 26th Belarusian Written Language Day.

Organizers of the contest are Ministry of the Republic of Belarus information, Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus, ZAO “CTV", OO "Belarusian Union of Writers".

Document Restoration: Conservatism and Innovation – 2024

On April 8-12 the VII International Scientific and Practical Seminar "Document Restoration: Conservatism and Innovation - 2024" was held at the Russian State Library. This is the largest professional forum, the main task of which is to exchange experience and improve the skills of restorers and curators of museum, library and archival collections from different countries.

April 18, 2024 marks the 210th anniversary of the birth of Yevstafiy Tyshkevich, a famous archaeologist, historian, ethnographer, local historian and museologist. His research has raised whole layers of the historical past, he was one of the first Belarusian authors of local lore. To mark the anniversary of the scientist, an exhibition "Connoisseur of Belarusian Antiquities" has been organized in the Book Museum of the National Library of Belarus.
