National Library of Belarus took part in the round table “Digital content” which was held on April 24, 2009, in the framework of the XVI-th International Specialized Exhibition on Telecommunications, Information and Bank Technologies "ТIBО-2009".
Participants of the event discussed the issues of information supply of innovative activity of Belarusian libraries, the modern state of scientific and technical information resources, providing of the access to information resources on innovations and law, development of Belarusian segment in Internet, and activities of National Library of Belarus and other Belarusian libraries in the field of the development and corporate use of electronic information resources.
A particular attention was paid to the issues of the development of legislation in the field of use and legitimacy of electronic publications; development of national free scientific resources; selection and providing of the free access to world scientific resources; role of National Library of Belarus and other big Belarusian libraries in the development of Belarusian segment in Internet as leading information institutions working with users and information products; and development of national scientific information products.
