On December 12, 2008, in Radzivills’ Nieswizh palace (Nieswizh) took place the second meeting of the International council for virtual reconstruction of documentary heritage and library of Radzivills’ Nieswizh residence.
The meeting was organized by Belarusian scientific center of electronic documentation and National historical and cultural museum “Nieswizh”, in cooperation with National Commission of the Republic of Belarus for UNESCO and financial support of UNESCO Bureau in Moscow.
The first meeting of the Council took place on April 27, 2007, in Minsk. Participants of the event adopted a resolution on mutual efforts in the framework of a project on disposable archival, library, and museum collections in Radzivills’ Nieswizh residence.
At the second meeting the first achievements and further plans of work were discussed. In the event participated: representatives of National Commission of the Republic of Belarus for UNESCO, workers of archives and libraries of Belarus, Poland, the Russian Federation, Ukraine, and Finland, and National historical and cultural museum “Nieswizh” management. R.S. Motulsky, Director of National Library of Belarus, L.G. Kiryukhina, Deputy Director for library science and public relations, and G.V. Kireeva, head of bibliology department participated in the meeting.
Participants of the meeting adopted a resulting document which determines a program of joint efforts for 2009 and accentuate that fulfillment of the project will provide the open access to scientific and reference resources of archival and library materials and promote national projects and programs on study and preservation of documentary heritage of participating countries.
