"From Lullabies to Jingles", a collection of children’s stories and poems, was presented at the National Library, on June 27.
We should promote a love of the mother tongue for our children, without waiting until they go to school nor over-relying on teachers. The mother language must be "live" and heard since childhood, as soon as children begin to walk and talk, or even earlier, with sweet lullabies and bedtime stories.
The collection "From Lullabies to Jingles" is a good aid to parents and teachers. Both readers and young listeners will enjoy the variety of lullabies, fairytales, short stories, verses, and multitude of curious riddles.
The collection, published by Minsk regional branch of the Union of Writers of Belarus, includes the works of 25 authors form Minsk Region. Their small writings are different in style and genre but equally nice and funny. Some of them are designed for education, some for development, and some for fun and family leisure.
Victor Kozhura, a member of the Union of Writers of Belarus, and Bozhena Ganushkina, the deputy chair of Minsk regional branch of the Union of Writers of Belarus, conducted the event which was a light and fascinating game.
The presentation was attended by Tatiana Kuminich, the deputy director of the National Library of Belarus for information resources, Svetlana Bykova, the chair of the regional branch of the Union of Writes of Belarus, Irina Kornoukhova, the head of the amateur club of composers and poets “Zhyvitsa”.
The meeting was truly creative, and the audience enjoyed performances of young artists and authors-compilers of the collection, Victor Kozhura, Valentina Giruts-Rusakevich, Tatiana Dashkevich and Tatiana Mushinskaya.
