In the framework of the Year of Culture, the cultural and educational project "On a Visit to the Books aimed at the development of the culture of reading, interest to books and popularizing of the national reading heritage starts in the National Library of Belarus.

The project will be realized through cultural and educational lessons for children in the Book Museum of the National Library of Belarus.

"Visiting books" is a very timely initiative before the 500th anniversary of the Belarusian printing that will be celebrated in 2017. The aim of the project is to draw children’s attention to the Library and museum, love to reading, stimulate of readers’ activities, forming of pride for achievements and rich traditions of domestic book culture. The unique character of lessons is the opportunity of studying of national book heritage with the help of the richest collection of book monuments.

The first lessons for pupils of Minsk have already been held.
