The workshop on information resources and services of the Virtual Reading Room of the National Library of Belarus took place on February 11 in the library of the Belarusian State Economic University.
Mr Vyacheslav Brichkovskiy and Ms Lyubov Danilenko, employees of the Corporate Interaction Department of the NLB, introduced the audience to the content and possibilities of using the website Belarus in the Information Space – a navigator on authoritative online resources, diverse and objectively reflecting the life of our country. The focus was on the economy and business, the resource base of libraries in Belarus, and the repositories of open access institutions of higher education.
The 100 days to the Great Victory Through the Pages of 1945 Belarusian Newspapers section caused the particular interest of the participants.
In addition, participants were introduced to foreign databases accessible through the Virtual Reading Room of the National Library of Belarus, as well as the main trends in the development of the open access initiative for scientific and educational resources.
The participants exchanged their views on the possibilities of using the resources and services of the Virtual Reading Room of the National Library of Belarus in information support of the educational process and research, including in the work with students, undergraduates and graduate students from foreign countries.
