On February 11, within the framework of the XVIII Minsk International Book Fair, a presentation of investment projects in the field of preservation and promotion of national book heritage took place at the stand of the National Library of Belarus.
The National Library of Belarus as the biggest scientific library of the country in cooperation with the Belinvestbank presented one of the most recent projects – a series of calendars reflecting the richness and diversity of the book heritage of Belarus. Through the old Belarusian book, the published series represents the image of our country as a state aimed at the newest technological and scientific achievements (that is represented by the heritage of first printers F. Skoryna, I. Fyodorov, P. Mstislavets and others), with a high level of education (Belarusian scientific and educational editions), as a jural state (the monuments of law well-known all over Europe) and a tolerant state (the most beautiful editions of different believes).
Chairman of the National Commission of Belarus for UNESCO Vladimir Shchasny, deputy chairman of the board of the Belinvestbank Vladimir Tamashevich, chief executive of the Belarusian Exarchate Publishing House Vladimir Grozov, deputy director of the National Library of Belarus for research and publishing Lyudmila Kiryukhina and academic secretary of the National Library of Belarus Aleksandr Susha delivered welcoming speeches at the presentation.
Preparation and issue of the series of calendars will become the basis for a long-term and fruitful cooperation between cultural institutions and banks of Belarus for preservation and promotion of the national cultural heritage.
