Museum classes "Postcards with Uladzimir Karatkievich's Drawing" took place on December 19. Using the drawings of the famous Belarusian writer, children created their own unique holiday cards. Classes were held within the framework of the "Book Professors Club" project.
Participants of the classes visited the exhibition "From the Books of Uladzimir Karatkievich", timed to coincide with the 90th anniversary of the writer in the Book Museum. The children learned that Uladzimir Karatkievich had a large library and knew where each book was on the shelf. Since childhood, the boy had a love for books, which he carried through his whole life. Even in the difficult year of 1942, when Karatkievich was 12 years old, he received a book from his parents as a gift. The writer's personal book collection contained manuscripts, early printed books and rare editions. Of the three thousandth items in the collection, about 500 books have dedicatory inscriptions. Uladzimir Karatkievic took care of his library and marked books with bookplates. He created bookplates for books himself, even original ones. And bookplates from famous artists were one of the best gifts for the writer.
Children saw that Uladzimir Karatkievich was not only a wonderful writer and poet but also an artist. He created bookplates for books and was very good at painting. The writer made greeting cards for his friends himself. With the help of drawings of the Belarusian literature classic, the participants of the classes created their own postcards for the holidays.
