From 5 February to 9 February, the National Library of Belarus took part in the work of the XXI Minsk International Book Fair which was held at the National Exhibition Centre "BelExpo".

Every year, the Minsk International Book Fair is gaining more authority that confirms a constant increase in the number of exhibitors and visitors. This year, there have been stands represented by 26 countries. Each of them became the honorary guest as the slogan of the event in the year of hospitality is "All books, you are welcome! All countries, you are welcome!".

Visitors of the stand of the National library of Belarus got acquainted with a large number of print and electronic documents which had been prepared and published by the Library in recent years. Also visitors could see unique facsimile editions – Barkolabovo Chronicle, Polotsk Gospel, Vilna "Bukvar".

On 6 February, as part of the opening of the 21st Minsk International Book Fair, there was a presentation of the Library’s electronic projects "Heritage of Józef Kraszewski" and "Memorable books of Grodno Province".

On days of the book fair, its visitors showed a great interest to the Library’s catalogs-rarities and editions on local history. The visitors also gave attention to the first page of a multivolume facsimile edition of Skorina’s book heritage (signing of its first page in December 2013 was the launch of a nationwide project timed to the 500th anniversary of the national book printing and which will be carried out in 2013–2017), materials on design of scientific papers, publishing products, including collections of postcards "Flora and fauna in manuscripts and incunabulum" and "Children’s radiant time" from the funds of the National Library of Belarus. Among electronic editions, the most popular ones became this year’s new multimedia editions, as well as electronic editions on the memorable books of the Belarusian provinces of the previous years.

Traditionally, as part of the book fair the National Library of Belarus received printed editions as a gift.

The National Library of Belarus as the republican information and social and cultural centre proved to be on a high level, not yielding to the other participants of the fair with its publishing products, therefore it was awarded the Diploma of the 21st Minsk International Book Fair "For active participation and interesting exposition".
