On November, 29th, the Borisov Central Regional Library named after I.H. Kolodeev hosted the V International science and practical conference “The Kolodeev lectures” dedicated to the 155th birth anniversary of I.H. Kolodeev.
At the event the National Library of Belarus was represented by head of the Bibliology department Galina Kireeva who read up the report ”Sources of I.H. Kolodeev’s book collection (in the stocks of the National Library of Belarus)”.
The conference was arranged by the Borisov regional executive committee, the Borisov Central Regional Library named after I.H. Kolodeev, the House-Manor of I.H. Kolodeev, and the Manor-Club of I.H. Kolodeev “Bivouac” (Borisov).
At the opening of the conference, director of the Borisov Central Regional Library named after I.H. Kolodeev Galina Slesarenko made a welcoming speech. Researchers and experts of the Borisov Central Regional Library, the National Library of Belarus, the Belarusian State University, the art-community named after Tadeusz Rejtan (Baranovichi), the newspaper Goman Barysaushchyny, the Irkutsk State University (Irkutsk, Russia), and the Yekaterinburg military-historical community Gorny Shchit (Yekaterinburg, Russia) read their reports and papers.
During the conference the following questions were considered: the significance of I.H. Kolodeev’s activity for the preservation and perpetuation of the history of the war of 1812 in Borisov and the region, the introduction of innovative forms and methods of promotion of the theme of the war of 1812 in regional educational and cultural institutions, the results of archeological researches near the Berezina river, routes of the “Great Army” of Napoleon in the Borisov region, and the activity of contemporary amateur associations on the military-historical past of the Borisov region.
Within the bounds of the conference, participants made an excursion to the House-Manor of I.H. Kolodeev and visited Igor Gorbunov’s exposition of military-historical miniatures. Also the presentation of a documentary film “1812. The First Patriotic War” took place in the house-manor.
