On December 10, the library hosted a presentation of the publication of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in the Belarusian language.

The publication of the most important historical document is timed to the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The translation of the text was carried out by specialists from the Center for Studies of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The book was completed with photographs from the archives of the United Nations.

The presentation was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Dapkiunas, UN Resident Coordinator in the Republic of Belarus Joanna Kazana-Wisniowiecki, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee on Human Rights, National Relations and the Media of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Valentin Rozanets.

A copy of the publication of the Declaration in the Belarusian language was handed to the main book treasure of the country. Director of the National Library of Belarus Roman Motulsky thanked translators and publishers for their work and noted that now the document will be available to a wide circle of readers.

The presentation was followed with performances by talented musicians from the Westfalia string quartet.

On December 10, 1948, at the General Assembly, the United Nations approved the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, calling on all UN member states to do everything possible to popularize it. The landmark document for the first time defined the inalienable rights of every person, regardless of his race, gender, language, religion, political or other convictions, national or social origin, or property status.

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
