Within the framework of the events of the Virtual Reading Room of the National Library of Belarus, a presentation of licensed electronic information resources (EIR) and special solutions to meet the information needs of visually impaired people took place on December 1.

The specialists of the Corporate Interaction Department introduced the audio collections, as well as methodological and educational literature. Special attention was paid to such a topical issue as the possibility of using EIR in the organization of distance education.

The virtual platform brought together over 50 representatives of higher education institutions, colleges, lyceums, secondary schools, public libraries and public organizations of Belarus.

Participants from the Institute of Inclusive Education of the Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after M. Tank, specialized boarding schools for children with visual and hearing impairments, regional public organizations of the disabled showed keen interest in the event.

The Virtual Reading Room is open for cooperation with all libraries and information centres in our country regarding subscription to licensed databases and training to work with them.
