On 29 March, a concert-presentation of sheet music "Music Heritage of Rzeczpospolita from Russian National Library” took place at the art gallery “Labyrinth”.
The concert-presentation was prepared by the National Library of Belarus and the publishing house “Chetyre Chetverty”.
The series was launched in 2008 by composer and researcher, Associate Professor at the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts Evgeni Poplavsky. 10 sheet music have been published at the moment.
Elena Dolgopolova, First Deputy Director for User Service and Ideology of the National Library of Belarus, delivered a welcoming speech. Director of the publishing house “Chetyre Chetverty” Liliana Antsug; Director of Polish Institute in St.-Petersburg Cesari Karpinsky; Chair of the National Commission of Belarus for UNESCO and Ambassador on Special Mission of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Shchasny took part in the event.
Author of the series “Music Heritage of Rzeczpospolita from Russian National Library” composer and Associate Professor at the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts Evgeni Poplavsky presented as a gift the recently published sheet music to the National Library of Belarus.
Guests of the event enjoyed original musical compositions created by composers of Rzeczpospolita and performed by people artist of Belarus and composer Igor Olovnikov, students of the Belarusian State Academy of Music and students of Republican Gymnasium-College at the Belarusian State Academy of Music.
