The Acquisition Department of the National Library of Belarus has transferred to the library of correctional colony No. 13 in Glubokoe (Vitebsk region) more than 600 copies of books from its collection for intra-republic document exchange and redistribution.
The transfer of publications is implemented in compliance with the organizational plan of the Public Council under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus. The action “A Good Book is the Best Friend in Life” is designed for libraries of the penitentiary establishments of the Republic of Belarus.
During the action, more than 3.5 thousand copies of books were transferred to the libraries of pre-trial detention centers, correctional institutions, prisons, medical and labor dispensaries in Minsk, Brest, Gomel, Mogilev, Vitebsk, Orsha, Dzerzhinsk, Bobruisk, Gorki, Zhodino, Novopolotsk and other cities. The libraries acquired encyclopedic and reference publications, historical and documentary works, educational and legal literature, social, political, popular science and art magazines.
