On February 25th–26th employees of the National Library of Belarus participated in an international seminar “Modern technologies of digitization of information and their use in Ukraine”.
The event arranged by the Goethe Institute and the Ukrainian Library Association took place at the Goethe Institute in Kiev.
Ukrainian and German experts exchanged their experience: Anke Verena Meyer-Hess (the German National Library); Andre Homann (the Saxon State Library – the Dresden State and University Library); Aleksey Vasilyev (Ukraine, association”Informatio-Consortioum”); Tatiana Belyaeva (“Electronic Archives of Ukraine” Company).
The National Library of Belarus was represented by Deputy director for Information resources Tatiana Kuzminich and Head of the Electronic library development section Lyudmila Parfinovich.
At the seminar there were delivered presentations and reports concerning conceptual approaches to digitization of library stocks with the purpose of creation of easy access to the world cultural heritage and technologies of organization of working processes in the field of digitization of library documents. Also examples of primary and additional (repeated) data processing, ways of accommodation of electronic resources for free (public) use were offered.
A significant attention was given to the features of work of German and Ukrainian libraries in the field of protection of intellectual property rights in the context of digitization of documents, creation and distribution of their digital analogues.
“Electronic Archives of Ukraine” Company presented services in digitization of card catalogs, creation of digital analogues of different printed editions they offer / provide to libraries.
