On November 29, the National Library hosted a seminar for librarians of general secondary education institutions of the Minsk region on the topic "Information and library support of the educational process. Children's reading – the path to creativity and success: new opportunities for socialization and bibliotherapy in the school library".
The event was attended by managers and specialists of the National Library of Belarus.
Anastasia Maslovskaya, head of section of the Library Science Department, presented the findings from a study on the information needs of public library users, that was carried out in 2022 as part of the research initiative "Research of the total fund of public libraries of the Republic of Belarus to determine the most popular literature by users and the need for updating".
Ekaterina Sedneva, the senior librarian of the Library Science Department told about the republican professional contest "Library is the Center for Spiritual Enlightenment and Education", which is annually attended by public libraries, libraries of educational institutions and libraries of the Belarusian Exarchate.
Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Reference and Information Department, presented information resources and services of the National Library of Belarus, their opportunities and potential for the educational process.
