From September 29, 2009, to September 30, 2009, within the framework of the International Conference on Frontiers, a meeting of the work group “Heads of border departments” was held in National Library of Belarus.
The Conference is a consultative forum in which participate seven work groups.
The work group “Heads of border departments” has been headed by the Republic of Belarus since 2009. There was the first meeting of the group held in Belarus. Heads of border departments of several countries and representatives of the European Commission, FRONTEX, UNDP, UNHCR, IOM, OSCE, Council of the CIS member states frontier troops commanders and Russian Federal Frontier Agency participated in the event.
Issues of the use of modern technologies and systems for border protection were examined at the meeting of the work group.
Participants of the meeting made a tour of the Library and got acquainted with its information resources, collection of rare publications, and architecture of the Library building.
