An online meeting of the Technological Committee of the Corporate Cataloguing System of Belarusian Libraries was held on March 16. Over 50 specialists from the country's libraries involved in maintaining the Consolidated Electronic Catalogue (SEC) of Belarusian libraries attended the event.
During the meeting, the operation results of the corporate cataloguing system and the regional SEC of the Belarusian libraries in 2020 were summed up. Besides, new editions of normative and methodological documents were discussed, including “Regulations on the Consolidated Electronic Catalogue of Belarusian Libraries”, “Regulations on the Technology Committee of the Corporate Cataloguing System”, and “Technology of Authority Control in the Corporate Cataloguing System of Publications and Maintaining the Consolidated Electronic Catalogue. The Third Edition". The use of the 856 field when creating bibliographic records in the SEC were considered.
