On June 19, 2008, in National Library of Belarus took place the third meeting of the Joint intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and Uzbekistan.
During the meeting of governmental delegations headed by A.V. Kobyakov, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus and N.M. Khanov, the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan were discussed the issues of the extension of the bilateral turnover, development of industrial cooperation in the field of economy, cooperation in the field of science and technologies, tourism and sport, development of the legal and contractual basis of bilateral relations, etc.
Participants of the meeting made a Library tour during which Lyudmila Kiryukhina, the Deputy Director for library science and public relations acquainted the guests with the history and resources of the Library.
