On November 27th, 2009, in National Library of Belarus took place the meeting of the EURASEC Interstate Council at the level of the Presidents of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Armenia.
The heads of states examined the urgent issues of the development of co-operation: formation of the Customs union and the uniform economic space within the limits of the EURASEC ; realization of the joint efforts for overcoming of consequences of the world financial crisis in the states - members of the EURASEC ; regulations on the main principles, trends and forms of co-operation for maintenance of external borders, etc.
On results of the meeting the Presidents of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan signed documents on formation of the Customs Union and made decisions on realization of its first crucial steps.
