On November, 19th, the Central Scientific Library named after Yakub Kolas hosted a meeting of the Council of libraries of Belarus for information.
Heads of republican and regional libraries, working groups and the Council’s executive committee took part in the meeting which was presided over by director of the National Library of Belarus R.S. Molulsky.
The following questions were considered:
1. Results of the 2nd International congress ”The library as a cultural phenomenon”.
2. About purchasing of databases for 2015 and the activities of the Virtual reading room of the National Library of Belarus.
3. About participation of Belarus in the EIFL General Assembly.
4. About connection of the Presidential Library of Belarus to the corporate cataloguing system and the operation of the Summary electronic catalogue of libraries of Belarus.
5. About the development of summary regional catalogues of libraries of Belarus.
6. About publishing projects of the National Library of Belarus and opportunities of cooperation with other libraries and information centers.
Participants of the event met with approval the activities of the Council of libraries of Belarus for information interaction.
