On December 17th, 2009, in National Library of Belarus took place a meeting of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland.
During bilateral negotiations participants of the meeting discussed the questions of Belarusian-Polish cooperation in the field of culture, prospects and steps to take for its further development.
After the negotiations, a press-conference timed to the 200th anniversary of Frederic Chopin was held. In the event participated Pavel Latushko, the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus and Bogdan Zdrojewski, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of Poland.
In the next year Belarus, along with other countries, celebrates Frederic Chopin’s anniversary. Within the framework of the celebration, a number of events take place: concerts and opera; Minsk School of Arts № 3 will be named after Frederic Chopin.
Representatives of the Polish delegation made a tour of the Library and got acquainted with its equipment and peculiar architectural features. In the Museum of a Book the guests saw the collection of rarities from the Library’s stock.
