On 26 November, the personal exhibition of photographic portraits by sculptor and photographer Jaǔhen Kolčaǔ Light and Color will open at the National Library.
For Belarusian sculptor Jaǔhen Kolčaǔ, the picture has become a favorite hobby in recent years. The offered exhibition will present a series of photographic portraits of Belarusian artists and art critics, filmmakers, photographers and journalists made by the author, Jaǔhen Kolčaǔ.
Jaǔhen Kolčaǔ works in the field of easel sculpture and animalism, adhering to the realistic tradition in art. His major works are Michelangelo, Icarus, Soldiers, Karate, Knockout, Temptation, The Apple of Discord, Twins, The Kiss, Running, Hounds, Dachshunds, and also a series of portraits of K. Kalinowski, V. Mayakovsky, R. Zaslonov, A. Zadorin, I. Barhatkov and others.
The artist also worked in the restoration workshops of Poland (1992–2000), where he took an active part in the restoration of complex architectural and sculptural elements of the Gothic and Baroque styles; the sites are located in Poland and Germany.
Currently he teaches sculpture at the Minsk State Art College named after A.K. Hlebaǔ.
The exhibition is organized by the National Library of Belarus and the gallery of graphics Knižny salon.
