On June 21 the Library was visited by the chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik.

Mr. Dodik arrived in Belarus at the opening ceremony of the 2nd European Games. During the visit, he visited the main book depository of the country.

Director of the National Library of Belarus Roman Motulsky represented the history of the “diamond of knowledge”, its architectural features and decoration to the guest.

During the excursion, Milorad Dodik visited the exhibition “Belarus Country of Sports”, which is included in the cultural program of the 2nd European Games, and also left an entry in the book of honored guests in the Book Museum.

“Premium Facsimile”

The facsimile reprint of the book heritage of Francysk Skaryna is an  international scientific and publishing project, implemented by the National Library of Belarus and the BelVEB Bank. It lasted five years and was successfully completed in 2017, the year which marked the 500th anniversary of Belarusian book-printing.

The Belarusian Primer Is Traveling the World

In 2018, the National Library of Belarus finished the international scientific publishing project on facsimile reproduction of a book artifact, the first book called “Primer,” which had been published on July 24, 1618, in the printing house of the Vilna Holy Spirit Orthodox Brotherhood in Evje (now Vievis, Lithuania) .

On July 16–18, St. Petersburg hosted the Sixth Forum of Belarusian and Russian Regions with the participation of the President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, and the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, as well as the delegations of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation for Interregional Cooperation.
