On May, 29th in the Children's room of the National Library of Belarus was held an entertaining and educational event dedicated to the International Child Protection Day “Let’s give the globe to children!”.


An educational presentation about the history of foundation and observance of the International Child Protection Day in our country, and also the book exhibition “Those who are happy at their home are happy in their life” were presented to parents’ attention.

Young guests of the Children's room had a nice time too. Children took part in various creative competitions: a dance and music contest “Funny Frogs”, a contest of theatrical abilities "Pantomime", and sports competitions “Skittle it!” and "Drivers". The most active and cheerful participants received prizes.

At the end of the holiday children stuck multicolored palms of paper on an improvised globe and drew with color crayons on the ground. A free and easy atmosphere, friendly dialogue and a variety of games and contests made the holiday cheerful and unforgettable.

April 18, 2024 marks the 210th anniversary of the birth of Yevstafiy Tyshkevich, a famous archaeologist, historian, ethnographer, local historian and museologist. His research has raised whole layers of the historical past, he was one of the first Belarusian authors of local lore. To mark the anniversary of the scientist, an exhibition "Connoisseur of Belarusian Antiquities" has been organized in the Book Museum of the National Library of Belarus.
