On April 17, the first lesson was held within the framework of the Young Belarusian Ex-libris competition to prepare young artists to create book signs dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the National Library of Belarus and the 15th anniversary of the Book Museum.

During the lesson, the participants got acquainted with the history and modern space of the National Library and the Book Museum. Attention was drawn to the characteristic elements that can be displayed in the competition piece.

Children and parents saw the historical bookplates of the library of the Nesvizh ordination of the Radziwills and the library of Ivan Paskevich. The exhibition "Library of the Khreptovichs: On the Way of Return" shows the ex-libris of the private collection of the Khreptovichs' books.

Bookplates help to study the history of valuable book collections and are works of art. In one of the reading rooms, the participants had the opportunity to look at numerous albums and catalogs of ex-libris.

The next classes will take place on April 24 at 15.00. We invite everyone interested!
