A meeting for children and their parents with author Aliena Mikhalienka was held at the Book Museum on 9 October as part of the Book Professors' Club project.

Ms Aliena Mikhalienka is the author of poetry and prose books that children love very much. These include famous poetic adaptations of saints' lives ("The Tale of the Life of St Jefrasinia, Hegumenia and Princess of Polack", "Mother Ksienia"), prose collections "The Road to Christmas", "To Children about our Motherland" and many others. Interestingly, the writer is a graduate of the Physics Department of the Belarusian State University and teaches physics in school.

At the meeting with young readers, Ms Mikhalienka presented her new book "Kind Fairy-Tales" in Belarusian. Ms Volha Mikhalienka, illustrator, also attended the event. The participants were introduced to the content and artwork of the publication, completed creative assignments, talked to the author and artist, received autographs and gained unforgettable memories.

The collection of the National Library of Belarus keeps "Kind Fairy-Tales" in Russian (first edition of 2008, reprints of 2011 and 2014), "Kind Fairy-Tales" (2021) in Belarusian in translation by the author herself, first published with illustrations by Volha Mikhalienka. During the event, the writer made a gift to the National Library: she donated her book to the collection, which was translated into Serbian and published in Belgrade in 2019.
