On May 22, 2009, in National Library of Belarus took place a seminar “Internet technologies in libraries”.
The event in which participated more than one hundred representatives of Minsk and Belarusian regional libraries was held by National Library of Belarus. Roman Motulsky, the Director of National Library of Belarus opened the seminar.
The aim of the seminar was to improve professional skills of specialists working in public libraries through the application of Internet technologies in libraries.
The following issues were discussed at the seminar: state and perspectives of the development of Internet technologies in libraries; library web sites examination; information and library service of remote users; information and technological maintenance of library web sites.
Participants of the seminar exchanged the experience in the field of use of Internet technologies in Minsk Centralized System of Children’s Libraries and application of "Web 2.0" technology on the web site of the Belarusian National Technological University Scientific Library.
