On September 26, within the framework of the exhibition project "Belarus and the Bible", an international scientific roundtable was held at the library.

The event was organized by the National Library of Belarus, the Manuscript Research Group (the USA) and Belarusian State University.

The round table problem field:

  1. The influence of the Bible on the culture and philosophical thought of Belarus.
  2. Biblical publication in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the 16th–18th centuries.
  3. Dissemination of the Bible in the territory of Belarus in the 19th – early 21st centuries.
  4. The Bible in the culture of Belarus today.

Alexander Susha, Candidate of Cultural Studies, deputy director of the National Library of Belarus for research and publishing activities.

Carol Scott, PhD, head of the Manuscript Research Group, researcher of ancient manuscripts.

Bruce Anderson, PhD (Oxford Center for Missionary Studies), researcher of the political thought in the early modern period of modern history.

Elena Filatova, Candidate of Historical Sciences, senior researcher at the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

Lyudmila Ivanova, Candidate of Historical Sciences, chief archivist at the National Historical Archive of Belarus.

Irina Dubenetskaya, Bible scholar, doctor of theology.

"Soldier's Fate": on the 100th anniversary of Vasil Bykov and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the People's writer of Belarus, publicist and screenwriter Vasil Vladimirovich Bykov.
On this occasion, the National Library has prepared an anniversary exhibition "Soldier's fate", which highlights the great influence on the work of the Belarusian writer of his participation in the Great Patriotic War.
